Once upon a time,we made products-cars,computers,things we sold to the world
We sought out Third World bases to economize,and now offshored,we subsist on service industries
Once upon a time,our dollar was the world's currency-trade denoted in dollars universally
Now Euro and Yuan compete with our dollar in the streets and they just keep printing more
Once upon a time we had leaders of vision and bravery-Jefferson,Franklin,Washington,Eisenhower
It is hard to separate scandals from the candidates who seek our vote
who have no record of individual achievement
Once upon a time was triumphalism,Manifest Destiny,exceptionalism-
all those myths that sustain flags,sport ,wars,Empires and tourism.Now all we seek
is a Happy Meal(ending)
