everyone contains opposites-within war,peace seekers
silent auctions(artists),songs /harmonies(songwriters
peace petitions(poets),pinwheels for peace,edible peace signs
volunteers,food,drinks,conversation,congenial company
not one trace of conflict nor of fear/a zone made clear
by expressed mutual intent/as if to show -all is possible
Begin here-with oneself.Breath and speech.Listening and silences
Next,reach to those who do not-not in a Messianic fervor
more a smile and seek to link.There is no agenda-there is only us-
underneath the bombs,still only us.This is a benefit
for all humankind is learning how to live together
We have nowhere else to go.We are learning as we go
Wars are waiting if we fail/to convince ourselves
that all is possible/and peace is civil discourse
I am not sure if this can happen more than once
in every moment.Butterflies and doves against hawks and eagles.
The odds have always been stacked against our mutual survival
Somehow we have made it to day.September 11.We reconvert it like the Internet
Reconnect to each other via creative arts .We listen (again/deep breathe
Such small steps away from violence /into common sense
Tomorrow is another attempt.
