the child advocate explained our warzones-
how children had to be removed from violent homes
how domestic abuse was epidemic
how many end up in foster homes
and these often number two or three
how disruptive this is for a child's sense of safety
how funding relies upon support of the community
how we are on the lip of a catastrophe
as these specific children grow into adults
with no sense of personal safety and no boundaries
having been violated at a vulnerable age
We listened like a time delay
this is at the core of all-
when families crack and fall
the future will be none at all
Seeds poisoned through neglect/abuse
flower into toxic/poisonous
unless/until we recognize
these families are our own(children like wise
