Zeitgeist of November sees crowds at Austin Poetry Society
hippies dancing on Snake Island,and Kick Butt fool to brimming
(Moon has entered this building,blessing everyone-
smiles appear for no particular reason
Songs of praise celebrate Thanksgiving
rather than Black Fridays shopping recession
Tonight another open mike poetry session
just before holidays close down freedom of expression
substituting muzak and Xmas caroling
and SPECIALS for the shopping Depression
It is a blessing to be in these fool moon times-
when partings and departings send angels heavenward
We are left here to sing with Mother Moon
as long as she reflects upon this
poetry will not be lost
