ACCORDING TO LEGEND

Susan Bright convened poets and musicians to save the trees @Barton Springs
We gathered and sang-some trees survive. The attention of folk is required
if any tree is to revive enough in Republican drought times.Today an idea arrived-
to photograph Mother Pecan so that she might be designated Community Heritage Tree Of The Year.
Zoila simply asked us to gather in Zilker under the shade of her arms. She took photographs.
These days, the survival of one tree is a good start.
Julia Butterfly lived in a tree for a year to save that tree.
Old growth forests are quite irreplaceable- in our lifetime
Austin trees have become elders-the tree canopy shrinking-heat is rising.
High rise towers trap concrete and aluminium Californians
Be the tree you have planted in your earth-seed for future forests
Plant native trees to replace and augment damage done by our settlement
Green as our smiles as we remember Susan Bright.,trees in Austin,Barton Springs
and every seed planted by the faerie folk of this garden -to save and extend
what is left -of Mother Nature.
