streets hollow bells ring Salvation Armies
Cold and dark and ill /alone
homeless/abandoned/shelter?-none!
bright cartoons distract from documentary facts(hide that!
fake cheerleaders compete for dictators
malaise even in shopping season
those on the lip of leaving start stuttering
burgled beauty,beaten artists/careless poets
FEDEX and UPS toss parcels over fences
while they close our only Post office down
The good news is-this has nothing to do
as we have much to do-and a right to do it will be
when we realize our energies
are what changes our economies
