a saccharine recycled romance with second tier actors
promoted as mushy distraction for Valentine's day couples
i went to see SAFE HOUSE-showing CIA duplicity,waterboarding,illegal ops
tightly edited,well photographed,with powerful acting and a good script
I sat through it twice.Digesting the lines"people do not want the truth-it is too messy"
i thought of St Valentine-how he was put to death and is now a little Cupid figure
How Ron Paul came second to Romney but all the media featured only Romney
How we are withdrawing from two battlefields while creating new conflict zones
How we are simultaneously cutting military and boosting secret ops
How we suppressed Bahrain and allow Syria to kill her own people
How Americans may now be detained indefinitely without trial
How our Constitution that folk fought for is in tatters
And how the eviction of OCCUPY reveals no freedom of speech or assembly
Then i thought of all the sweet cooing couples sipping THE VOW
and realized how distraction is elementary magic
and the next war is now.
