may we all be heard
words are bells
let them ring!

Wary as criminals when released
They nibble ,chew,digest-wary,watchful
Something in their genes tells them
We are rifle eyes and shotgun blinds

Even doe ,feminine,thin,shadow stillness
when any sound could spook them
Turn them kinetic cartoons
from still life painted sculptures

We both know our roles-to us
they are venison ,disturbers of lawns
Blinds set up for ritual assassination
Guns loaded for the loading of a truck

Before death via bullet or road crash
Beauty resurrects.We both stop,stare.
