may we all be heard
words are bells
let them ring!

how could i forget?(the healing power of music...

she asked me what music my mother liked-
"Whatever it is,play it with and for her-
i asked permission to sing for my mother
so between strokes,each night-a lullabye
At first she was resistant to this "New Age"idea
but when assured of good intent,we spent rich times together
Massage, reiki, reading to and having stories shared-
elders are rich in life experience/happy to relate
once they know how precious time is..."
She shared that it was hardest with her mother
She had been with many in their passing
Yet the specific nature of parent love is such
that music is a healer-just to hear and be heard in harmonies
So i packed some Irish music, knowing St Patricks Day
would evoke and invoke Potato Famine memories
long before my mother's own life-yet,like the music,
bringing forth memories of Irishness and life and growth
(like the music)-long past popular taste."It is the music(she said)
which will best convey your love.Silence helps.Words may not be necessary
Just to listen together-to connect. Then to release
and let the music take over...
