roads go ever on-we are on them
distances between stretch as we get in a car and drive
it is the journey ,less the details,that attracts
long distances between shadows and the light
day and night throw dice between us
all the beaten ghosts they call our names
once,they were the front line action
that was fifty years ago-their claim to fame
whatever words attract us honey to the ants
one by one we come,cafe coffee or an open mike
we know our ancestors opened up their minds
but we are messengers of stranger times
what happens next for us to find
the highway calls-what you will remember
are these spells,enchantments,stories
spilled in to our free verse rhymes...
