let them ring!

APULEIUS 2012

Our Age is post-
post Velvet/Orange/Red Revolutions,post Arab Spring
post-OCCUPY with its adopted resolution processes
To speak of human relationships in concrete economic terms
and not as moral absolutes is to ask-why force?why debt?why wars?
Neighbours share-communities give-we exist co-operatively
The existence of privitized for profit schools/hospitals leads to prisons for profit
The less the State does-the more we pay/ twice-once,via taxes, next via picking up the failures.
Looking at the best of human responses to flood, famine, earthquakes,Tsunami, drought
leads one to assume a benign intention of response no longer evident in the security state
Crime rates go down-yet more police.Debts can be forgiven(as in a Statute of Limitations)
Yet Haiti was ruined via reparations like Germany post WW1
A better economic model is the Marshall Plan-to rebuild broken economies
in trust they will then align with their benefactors.A partnership of empowerment
Selling weapons is not aid.Subsidizing offshored torture centers ditto.
Bribing tribes with suitcases of American dollars is not aiding the victims of war.
Liberation means autonomy-and economic interdependence
Greece is sacking 15,000 middle class public servants per fiat of the EU
This is war upon the most stable and conservative bones of a society
Same with sanctions-the people of Iran /North Korea will not rise up while starving
They will respond to food and care and wisdom.War never works
Debt can be forgiven-and we can choose the models that work best for us-
before austerity programs destroy the core of our society-libraries,schools,parks,gardens
Cut black budgets.Micro-fund initiatives.Angel investors .Venture funds.New jobs,new ideas
Release the chains of past failures before we give up,shrug our shoulders, die in another useless war
