may we all be heard
words are bells
let them ring!

GOODBYE ,HOUSTON TOAD

Homeless,dispossessed,like us
we both have fires,we both have loss
Habitat is like that.Once gone
it (like us)will not return

I call(you do not croak
You cannot answer(you are gone
Fires Bastrop burned/yet even before
houses took yours

Call for you in the hope
you will hop up to our door
O tiny salamander litmus /test
our environmental readiness

Aquatic to terrestrial/
preyed upon/ in drought
When you are all gone
Are we next?
