the limitations of analogy

this Depression is not "like" The Great Depression
these are not "as" The Last Days
(analogies fail)
Metaphors are stronger-
TSA Nazis,CIA assassinators
straight to the core of rotten apples
Hyperbole is dangerous-
Dollars of the Weimar Republic
Black American young men jailed
Journalism assists(even blogs!)-
APD murders,Drug Gang Border Wars
Yet consider your audience-
peers with no power,who also write exposes
whose terse epic verse fills websites anonymous
whose Cassandra warnings are studiously ignored
when Global Warming drowns polar bears
heats our only planet to extinction
Oops! Hyperbole again!
Perhaps poetic apps might limit via censorship
any discussion of real issues
so we can settle for sweet Chinese classical verse-
about Falun Gong,Tibet,Tiennamen Square,Taiwan-
oops!slipping into journalism mode
Perhaps Sarah Palin can have her wish
jail wikileaks as terrorists
After all,there is no truth content
in poetry or politics
(only a metaphor)
