words are bells
let them ring!

Belief meets business on altars of communion
where Cavanagh and Chasid Cup compete for market space
Theology meets Mammon even when Jesus chased the money changers..
Coelic disease meant spelt flour ingredients could dilute wheat gluten
Bread is just bread until it is blessed.Schisms result in mechanized businesses
Communion a concept of cannibalism="the body and blood of Christ"
even when folk know it is only wheat and water.They BELIEVE it is body and blood.
Such trust makes "knock-offs"from Poland a question of cost
Hand made wafers in religious communities like hand made bibles and books-
antiquaries in an Industrial Revolution.Nuns baking wafers by hand have lost
to huge machines that process thousands of wafers at much cheaper cost.
Just as vocations have become less,hand made is history.
Nuns themselves are old maid's stories.What they make most is prayer and service.
Wafers from factories pile up on altars.We cannot go back.
Bless the factory .Bless the whole wheat wafer.
God bless the body of Christ as it sells in the marketplace.
