Railroads across prairies-=opened up the West
Telegraph and railroad tracks combined to demise bison/tribes
Now ghost trains stretch skeleton ghost trails-
Lake Shore Limited,Adirondack,Pennsylvanian
Californian Zephyr,Empire Builder,Sunset Limited
Coast Starlight ,Cardinal and the Southwest Chief-
all are dying species.Federal funding is fickle-
we fly and complain,or Greyhound and complain
rather than take time to take a slow train
Soon they will be preserved for Sunday steam picnics
and we will wax nostalgic/yet neither fund nor ride these rails
"My father was a train.Let me explain-i am an airplane.."
