at the garage sale,two masks called to me-
i bought them both(comedy and tragedy)
Halloween approaching and the season to disguise
All Hallows Eve,ghosts,goblins,witches ride
Trick or treat?or both -all -or none?
Those who wear their mask have come
to shapeshift as a hollowed pumpkin lit
by those who by candle light illuminate
Less the substance(removed,like seeds)
than the need to be aligned with consonant frequencies
This is why we gather while we can
and share the dream of seasons autumnal
Leaves may fall,they color all we know
Even trees stripped bare present a living show
