you point to history and its scattered failures-
one tiny Renaissance and massive barbarisms
you litany battlefields,greed and power
i point to poets and their singing dreams
as if a cloud defines the skies
or a bird could carry us on wings
You point to gravity (forget the bee-
whose ponderous weight outweighs his tiny wings
i vote for every salmon rising waterfalls
resist the cliche WILD! CAUGHT!
Somewhere,lighter than air,inventors dream alternatives-
(yet are we human and need batteries replaced-
Electric cars not as exciting as electric people
and possibilities that are more than theories
haunt us in our dreams.We are more than pasts-
(though past foundations architectures yet to come
We are open futures(though predictable/habitual
and in this present moment,find our dreaming
stronger than the decline of Western Civilization
As Ghandi said"Western Civilization?Now-THAT'S a good idea!"
