may we all be heard
words are bells
let them ring!

RESTORE OUR LIBRARIES!

When we wish to learn our history-
to explore what it means to be community
first step is towards a local library..SHUT!
Librarians are generally helpful people-
non-assertive,reasonable,rational and sweet
So when their numbers are shredded/we are less
Books are still the main repository of wisdom
coupled with GOOGLE/WIKIPEDIA and blogs on the Web
Where can all ages access other than via Libraries?
Because we are afraid,we pay SECURITY
(this does not make us feel secure)
We make homeless (us)feel less welcome
NO BLANKETS,BAGS OR BEDROLLS
Libraries have become de facto community centers
They hold(and sponsor)community events
They are the skeleton of our body politic
and need to be fleshed out with adequate funding
open 24 hours a day,7 days a week
This is what we need.

  1. Right on! (Speaking as a former librarian - for 18 years - and lifelong user.)
