let them ring!

NOISETTES

behind the counter(culture!
he pretends to be a barista
but (just add MUSIC-voila!
NOISETTES!He buys old tapes from the Library
records over them lowfi ,makes random video clips
sweet harmonies arise. He leaves them piled on the counter
for customers to peck and salvage. No price(PRICELESS!
The music .in a retro package.Reminds me.of us.Retro We
Remembering 8 track boom bass, tape players that broke down
LPs with the original scratches on vinyl.(i even remember 78s!
and can play them with those tiny steel needles
like the heroin addiction to harmonies of Heavens
Life raced fast past us-we (Childe Wonder!-stared open eyed
as cars grew into trucks and went to wars
and came back as broken HUMVEES
All the while we were practicing
Now it can be released-in glorious MONO
NOISETTES! a band you will never meet
as Clark Kent behind the counter of the Hideout
every Monday night fights a never ending battle
against boredom, ennui, and the escalating price of coffee
Amused to death?Maybe! But we are alive pre-Cd
and find in GOODWILL -ways to play Paradise
our retro-parents would never have considered
wise for us!
