may we all be heard
words are bells
let them ring!

THE ART OF GRIEVING AND OF LOSS

You may tear your hair and rent your garments
You may weep and wail and gnash your teeth
You may flagellate yourself in grief
But loss will not be impressed

You may grow cold as old bone
You may go cool, distant as the moon
You may grow silent, cease all conversation
Loss does not care

You may turn solitary and shun all company
You may go public and splash rain naked
You may do some things totally eccentric
Death will wait you out

Time alone may not cure loss
Grieving is a natural ,loving impulse
The trick is to survive the hole in your life
Fill it with joy at who you once knew

For each moment shared is illumination
Seek reasons for extending communication/celebration
is also a natural impulse calling you
to remember the best in all who have moved through..
