may we all be heard
words are bells
let them ring!

RECYCLED READS AND HALF-PRICE BOOKS

Dumpster diving behind Half-Price books brings poetic treasures
Chris shows me a BEAT author thrown out by BORDERS when they closed
He rescued that kitten  even when the rest of the littered was tossed
Recycled Reads sells used Austin Library books in much the same way
If you examine Half-Price shelves carefully-there is a CLEARANCE area
where Ovid and Sophocles vie with cooking and self-help tomes from the 70s
Garage Sales yield contemporary treasures-especially MOVING SALES!
Libraries once loved need be liberated when shelf space becomes non-existent
Most libraries have a FREE MAGAZINES stable outside awaiting your eyes
More sell of old books @$1 paperback,$2 hard cover-cheapest lovers for your eyes pleasures!
Bibliophiles rejoice when text is valued more than antique status-
when first editions are signed and in well read condition
Books are more than cults-they are doorways to other worlds
and we often return to old texts to re-acquaint ourselves
with the Lawrences and Laings,Orwells,Hesses and Castanedas
we grew to love, and treasured them like gifts of poetry
Rilke,Rumi,Rimbaud ring treasures on our shelves
Until ,one day,we must release them
and thereby be released...
