let them ring!

Re: All hallows Eve

i do not want to dress in costume
invoke zombies,witches,vampires,corpses
(we have enough who have left their bodies
the very thought hurts.so i sit in sunlight
dream of shadows/flitting insubstantial once with us
Faces smile(they do not know that they are ghosts
I give them names(they know their names-they left
and we are loss. For all the crowds who will stare and jostle
For me,this will be a silent night.
Of course,children will present themselves
beg for sweets in a sour world. They will receive largesse
My thoughts are in another world
Every soul i ever knew -who left before their time was due
All those who departed once /twice now remembrance creeps in
and makes a deep and serious shadow
where once the light played fast and hollow
I sit and wait for night to pass
gathering my lost from out the dark.
