literary Dublin and more

LIBRARIES(the Last Word
Before books become antiquarian artifacts
stored in unread tomes on dusty shelves
while the young stare @digital txts and GOOGLE
perhaps you remember the silences of libraries?
That serious study of tomes leatherbound and ponderous/
treatises upon topics now of another age
where handbound and handmade were one and the same
and a library was akin to a monastery. That is lost.
Libraries of old held secrets for the seeker
Dewey decimal or pre- explorations of themes and authors
long departed, leaving only their writings as clues
to lives of high adventure.I grew up inside my local library
My world expanded beyond dull suburbs with every author.
Now @my local car dealer,a pile of authors sit as proof of literacy-
yet were they to have been thrown out/and are only there for show.
Much like those fake books in politicians offices/or homes for sale
Too much has been lost-those silences are priceless
and when we come to digital silence....
