HOW TO PANHANDLE

If you are government,you simply tell your taxpayers
how you will disperse their taxes via deficit budgeting
all the while reassuring them this is in their own best interests
If you are corporations,you are"too big to fail"
hence corporate welfare and government largesse
Any profits you make from government handouts-you keep
all the while demanding more tax cuts
again citing"the public interest"
If you are intelligence agencies,you have bottomless "black budgets"
with no appeal from those very people whose secrets you are monitoring
all in the name of "National Security"
If you are police,you are given (free)tools of life and death
from a public budget stirred by fear and anger
You get pay rises while all other budgets get cut
If you are a politician,you live off both public funds
and private corporate support.They get tax deductions.
You get to follow their agenda.They bought you with tax dollars
If you are an unincomed individual,you are at the mercy
of all of the above.Your very life at risk every time you trust the streets
to yield a dividend by direct petition.You,too,have the right to beg
but you might be assaulted,harassed,arrested,beaten,jailed
simply for following the example of your jailers
all of whom live off the public purse
All of whom consider themselves your betters.
Agents of the state earn 1000 times your beggar's dollars
You are one paycheck away from these heated intersections
Mirrors in their eyes,they have the power of petition
(You have the right to beg for other's attention)
While jails fill with non-violent offenders
since when did poverty become such a crime
that all the poor gain power
by making all others afraid of them?
