so you know the difference between one line
and many
between meditating in a rowboat
and industrial workloads
between deadlines and quotas and haiku silver fish
You are both fish and net, catch and catcher
All you haul in from your depths is treasure
Some will have to be thrown back-too small to count
as food for birds or scavenger sharks
Some are dead lines that will not yield result
You will catch and release these /unhook yourself
let wilderness have a chance to regenerate
for future fisherfolk rely upon your losses
They ,too, will plumb these depths with nets of words
drag in food for thoughts, splay it upon wet decks
assemble into something resembling satisfaction
Shallow waters these days/and coastal fishing depleted
Deeper out,you run a risk of storms.Damaging your writing
What you bring back may be monstrous, huge ,White Whale
Your Marie Celeste anchoring.Sargasso Sea pondering.
You sink meditations and pull up rainbows
Somewhere,a dreamfish evades capture.
Holes in your nets allow flight for one
You let yourself out and seek deeper oceans
More folk who seek only capture -here they come!
BLESSING THE WATERS
Perception of a straw through water bends illusion
As with storms ,hurricanes,disasters-one
consecrates the waters (being from these oceans
finned once, with gills, now hooking landlines into waters
fluid as forevers, letting time sleep.Snoring silences
You are these waters are one.Bless each moment ,then release
The fish of your soul seeks deeper waters
Smiles like a dolphin/sports/sings....
